Hollywood promotes its shiny new remake

Published July 2nd, 2010

Hollywood is it! Regardless of when you last visited this famous Tinseltown, if you haven't been to Hollywood in the last 12 months, you have not seen anything!  It's never a dull moment in this busy place where tourists buzz day and night for a glimpse of their favorite star and a photo opportunity albeit on a sidewalk full of famous stars. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is in the heart of this Hollywood-style makeover. We're working hard to promote Hollywood, bring new businesses, attract tourists, and we're focusing on bringing the glitz right back into our most famous town in the world. Join us in our efforts, we've got a role for you!

Hollywood promotes its shiny new remake

By Jayne Clark, USA TODAY

HOLLYWOOD — Wandering through the cool, hushed halls of the mausoleum in the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, Enrico and Patrick Espiritu are on a mission to find the final resting place of Rudolph Valentino.
Never mind that they've never seen one of the silent-film star's movies. Visiting his crypt is just one of those things you do when you're sightseeing in Hollywood. The same way you size up your footprints against those of celebrities at Grauman's Chinese Theatre or prowl the Walk of Fame searching for a favorite actor's star.

Having located the crypt, the father and son pose for a snapshot in front of Valentino's lipstick-kissed marker and continue on their sojourn. They've done the Hollywood tourist thing before, but today they're seeing the place in a new light. Read more

Brothers Vahe and Harry Karamardian Sandella’s Flatbread Café

In June 2007 my brother Harry Karamardian and I signed a lucrative franchise deal to open 50 plus Sandella’s Flatbread Cafés throughout Los Angeles County. As we looked for our first location, we had no hesitation at all to start this concept in Hollywood. The main reason for this was due to what we had heard about the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. After meeting with one of the Chamber’s representatives, I was convinced of their commitment to support small businesses in the area. It has been over four months since we first opened, and I can’t express how many times the Hollywood Chamber staff has been here for us. They’ve been by our side, supporting us through their massive networking possibilities and many other services every day. Especially in today’s challenging economy, I encourage any small business owner to not think twice about joining the Hollywood Chamber.
